Does anyone know what smother me relates to? You listen to the song and it sounds all nice. Your thinking "oh its a sappy song for a significant other" then you hit the chorus and its a complete 180.. "Now I can Breathe Turn my insides out and smother me". Any Idea? Hopefully the band can answer this. I'd like to know the meaning or the thoughts behind the creation of these lyrics.

I think the song is about a man that really love a woman and dont want to leave her. Smother me it means the love that bring a man happy and sad, cry and laugh, even love hurt but always be a good thing for everyone...

No, it means exactly what you thought it meant. Now he can finally breathe, he just wants her all over him, he wants her to just smother him in her love, and he means it in a really beautiful way

Yeah...it's what some might call "sappy", it's just when Bert writes his songs they're worded metaphorically, so he never tells it as it is. I recon it's so the fans can interpret the song with the intended meaning, but in their own way...

i think every love song on lies for the liers is about himself...about him and ali. but i could be wrong so dont quote me on that. but it just seems to fit. but at the same times its like this guy loves this girl who apparently love him like he loves her...
for ex: I WANT YOU, YOU DONT WANT ME... I LOVE YOU TO DEATH, COULD YOU LOVE ME TO DEATH... HAVE I MURDERD OUR LOVE... so to me its like something happend and now the relationship isnt how it should be. my opinion, i have no true idea, but it sounds right. |

... hmmm...you know how some girl/boyfriends can be a little obsessive with the other? and call 24/7 and not give them any privacy and whatnot. i've heard a lot of people call that smothering. well, maybe he means that he wants to be loved that much. I'm not sure if you can even understand wht im trying to explaine haha to be completely honest i havent the slightest clue why he switches it around and says that lol |

i think this song is really creepy. It sounds like a creepy stalker song. "Smother me" lol. I still like it though

yea maybe he wants to be in love that much but maybe she doesnt. other things like in paralyzed when he says how could a fist fight be romantic and how he says all this shit that makes me think she doesnt love him like he wants her too. im not saying thats true, thats just what it sounds like. i dunno tho.

smother me, is like "smother me with love, hugs, kisses" that kinda thing. it's pure adoration for her. it's not meant to be negative like "smother me to death im going to kill you with this pillow over your face"..... like some others seem to think people fight, they have broken up before, theyve been in fights im sure, it doesnt mean she doesnt love him if he writes that, it means he's writing about a time in their life, if thats what that song is even about. thats what i get out of it |

no i know hes not talkin about killin her or him or what ever, i wasnt saying that. i mean to me in all the songs it sounds like he wants to be loved more that what hes getting. i dunno. like hes sure shes his number one, but shes just like ehh, i love you too. kinda. dont quote me on it, i dont know. im not in their relationship, its just what the lyrics sound like to me.

i love the fact that he came out from his screamy stage to this beautiful amazing lullaby..its so differnt but its like so awesome that he can change it up like that. i love this song.

I love this song. I can play the intro & that's aboot it. I'd try to figure the rest out but my piano is out of tune lol. It's just soo sweet & cute & I just want to give Bert a big, fat bear hug for it. I'd hug him for hours it's that beautiful lol.
