They started performing Wake The Dead at the beginning of the tour in August, there are plenty of YouTube videos you can check out. I don't know that they ever have played Noise and Kisses live; I heard about this one time that a fan asked them to and Bert didn't want to (it's an extremely personal song for him).

Means that it's really painful for him to perform it live. There are a lot of songs about his first girlfriend, like this one, that he either hasn't ever performed live or done just for their DVD. It's true that he's been willing to share a lot with his fans, but he almost never delves into the more personal stuff about what happened between him and Kate.

if he dont want to sing ''personal songs'' then he must write some conceptual lyrics about stuff that does not exists

c'mon all the songs that the band has wrote is about something personal..

That wasn't what I said. He's been willing to perform songs about personal stuff, but there are a couple that the band doesn't play either because it's too old or there's just too much pain involved to do it on a regular basis. Bert writes whatever feels like coming out of his head, he doesn't care what he writes as long as it's true to him and he likes what comes out of it. It's being painful to go through multiple times doesn't mean that he shouldn't even write it, by any means.

What I mean is, there's a line between very personal and so painful that pouring it out before the audience is just heartwrenching.

I know, as a song writer myself, that their are songs I wouldn't play infront of an audience so I understand why Bert doesn't want to do it. When you play on stage, the emotion is like 10times bigger, almost like reliving it again. So playing it once would hurt, but on a regular basis could completely destroy someone.

They played Wake The Dead on TOC back in November. It's an AMAZING live song.

YEAH I'VE SEEN YOUTUBE VIDEOS OF THEM PERFORMING THAT SONG LIVE, I LOVED IT! AW, THAT'S REALLY COOL INSIGHT OF BEING A MUSICIAN WRITER.. BUT ONE VERSE I DON'T REALLY UNDERSTAND IN THAT SONG ''NOISES AND KISSES'' IS 'THE ORANGE I CHOKED', DO YOU BY ANY CHANCE KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS?

I think it's Noise and Kisses, not Noises and Kisses.

"Noise And Kisses"

Look in my eyes
I'm jaded now whatever that means
by sharing these things
I rip my heart out
it's worth my time
whatever that means...so

hard to see up
my neck feels stiff until I wake up
the orange I choked
and back to my neck
it's worth my time
whatever that means....so

share with me
cause I need it right now
let me see your insides
or write me off
cause I'd rather starve now
if you won't open up

give it to me
give me all... whatever you want
it's never been me
to want this much from you
I can see
Yeah

share with me
cause I need it right now
let me see your insides
or write me off
cause I'd rather starve now
if you won't open up
you won't open up

it tears me up
it tears me up
it tears me up
it tears me up

look in my eyes
I'm jaded now whatever that means
by sharing these things
I rip my heart out
it's worth my time
whatever that means...so

share with me
cause I need it right now
let me see your insides
or write me off
cause I'd rather starve now
if you won't open up
won't open up

(share with me) yeah it tears me up
(cause I need it right now) tears me up (let me see your insides)
(or write me off) and it tears me up (cause I'd rather starve now)
(if you won't open up won't open up) tears me up

So, I think this song is about opening up to someone and telling someone how you feel and needing them to do the same. I think "the orange I choked" is a metaphor for being choked on words.

I also think the line "the orange I choked" could be linked with "Or write me off, cause I'd rather starve now, if you won't open up". If this is the case, "the orange I choked could represent the pain he's already been through (because choking isn't exactly the nicest feeling...) and "Or write me off, cause I'd rather starve now, if you won't open up" could mean he'd rather not be with this person if the person won't share their emotions with him.

Both these ideas could be completely wrong. Thr only person that knows what this song really is about it Bert as he wrote the song. I can tell this is a really emotional song just by the words...

Jeez! And I just thought it meant he choked down a glass of orange juice cause he'd just woken up! That was the only sense I could make of it, anyway.

its about drugs

and it sounds like the end of a relationship

in his mind nothing has changed
but she doesnt feel the same way anymore.

and there is probably no reason for why she doesnt feel the same way.
